A New York based Indian man is believed to have stabbed his wife to death and hang himself from a tree afterwards as he was jealous of the crush she had on a Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. The couple had married in July.
Although the reason of murder is still unclear but her friends have said that he had raged over her infatuation with Indian actor in the past.
She was infatuated with Indian actor dubbed as the ‘Greek god of Bollywood’. Every time she returned home from her bartending job, she enjoys watching the star’s films or listening to a song featuring him, but her green-eyed husband would descend into a jealous rage, and order her to switch it off, said a close aide of the couple, The Sun reported.
In between the murder and suicide, he was said to have texted his wife's sister that he killed her and that the key to the apartment was under a flower pot, police sources told the New York Post.
She had also previously told her friends that her husband was controlling and violent.
