ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party,Qamar Zaman Kaira on Tuesday urged India and Pakistan to come forward for resolving all issues pending between the two countries since long.
Talking to a private television channel, the PPP leader said that both the countries should move forward for addressing all lingering disputes for the benefit of the people of the region.
He said that Pakistan has already taken initiatives for the resolution of all issues.
He said that President, Prime Minister, Speaker and Parliamentarians from Pakistan had visited India and held talks on all important matters.
Replying to a question regarding Siachen issue, he said the two countries should discuss this important matter for the benefit of their people.
He was of the view that both the countries should curtail there defence budget being spent on Siachen the highest battle-field in the world. Kaira said that Pakistan and India are fighting against harsh weather of Siachen.
Replying to another question about the statement of Nawaz Sharif regarding withdrawal of troops from Siachen, he said "It is an encouraging statement."
The PPP leader said that a large number of personnel had lost their lives while performing duties at Siachen.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said that Pakistan and India can save precious human lives besides the budget by resolving all issues including Siachen.
