KARACHI: A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notices to respondents for May 11 in a petition against ban on pillion riding in the metropolis.
The petition was filed by Rana Mehmoodul Hasan, a human rights activist making Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Law Secretary and Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh as respondents.
He submitted that the petition was the public interest litigation as due to ban on pillion, fundamental rights of the people were being effected.
After preliminary of the petition, the bench comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Nadeem Akhter ordered issuance of notices to the respondents.
