Argentine soy prices slip behind US futures

BUENOS AIRES: Argentina's closing soy prices and trends on Monday:

* Soy prices in Rosario closed lower at between 1,500 and 1,505 pesos per tonne ($341-$342), down from 1,523.5 pesos per tonne in the previous session due to losses in the benchmark Chicago futures market, traders said.

* Trade volume was thin at between 5,000 to 8,000 tonnes.

* Soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade fell 1 percent, the most in four weeks, on technical selling and long liquidation following last week's 7-1/2 month high, traders said.

* In Rosario, soy for delivery in May closed at 1,505 pesos per tonne.

* In the port of Bahia Blanca, the oilseed closed down 20 pesos at 1,500 pesos per tonne.
