KARACHI: A short trip by Bangladesh team to Pakistan later this month would be a big boost for the game and it will help in revival of international cricket.
"Confirmation of Bangladesh touring Pakistan to play one one-day International and T20 International is heartening news," former Pakistan captain and Director International Cricket Operations said on Monday.
"This is big news for the diehard supporters and followers of the game as they would be watch international action on home soil after three years, he said.
He lauded the contribution of PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf and his concerted, consistent efforts which finally bore fruits.
"The successful holding of game would be a major step in inviting other teams and revival international cricket in Pakistan," he hoped.
He said Pakistan has always helped Bangladesh in promoting and developing their cricket and their decision to undertake the tour is praiseworthy.
"We have top class facilities to stage international cricket so there is no difficulty for us to host them at short notice," he said.
Intikhab Alam said high level security arrangements would be made and Interior Minister Rehman Malik is taking keen interest in this regard.
"High level security arrangements will in place as committed with Bangladesh Cricket Board delegation," he said.
"PCB would be preparing plan to welcome our Bangladesh cricket guest and give them, memorable stay in Lahore," he concluded.
