LONDON: Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.13 percent to 5,644.59 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 dropped 0.42 percent to 6,556.30 points and in Paris the CAC 40 lost 0.19 percent to 3,183.19.
European stocks had tumbled on Friday as investors reacted to eurozone debt tension and unexpectedly weak Chinese economic growth and US consumer confidence data, sparking renewed fears of a global slowdown.
