Pakistani delegation arrives in Kuala Lumpur to attend Defence Expo

KUALA LUMPUR: A 16-member Pakistani delegation arrived here on Sunday to attend defence expo.

The 13th Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) 2012 will start tomorrow (Monday) at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

A 16-member high-level Pakistani delegation led by Secretary Ministry of Defence Production Shahid Iqbal would also attend the four-day expo being arranged by the Ministry of Defence Malaysia (MINDEF) from 16th to 19th April, 2012.

The exhibition is expected to draw some 25,000 trade visitors from over 58 countries while 200 delegations from 35 countries and nations are scheduled to attend the event.

The theme for this year's edition of DSA is 'The Global Defence Services and Government Security Event'. The event will feature an impressive array of the world's most sophisticated military hardware and software technology as well as technology for homeland and security services.

The Pakistani delegation is expected to hold key meetings with defence officials from Malaysia and other visiting countries.

The event is likely to serve as a platform for creating favourable linkages and forging strategic alliances and partnerships besides offering opportunities for joint collaborations in defence manufacturing and procurement fields.
