ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Rehman Malik on Wednesday said permission would not be granted to hold public meetings in Red Zone and strict action would be taken against violators.
Giving directives to the Chief Commissioner Islamabad in a meeting held here to review law and order and security situation in the Federal Capital, Rehman Malik said the Station House Officer (SHO) and Superintendent of Police concerned would be held responsible if there were any violation and action would be taken against them as per rules and procedure.
The Interior Minister further directed that a report should be submitted to the Ministry of Interior within two weeks time about housing societies which were not running their affairs legally.
He said a list of the officers, who have been working at a same post for the last three years, should also be prepared and presented to his office.
Rehman Malik directed that the security of Islamabad should be enhanced and in this regard all out measures should be adopted.
High officials of the Interior Ministry and others attended the meeting.
