LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has assured the media persons that the Federal Government will provide financial assistance to the Lahore Press Club (LPC) Housing Society in order to pay for development funds.
Responding to demand by the print media journalists during a meeting here Sunday, he said that he would talk to the Finance Minister on the issue and ask to release funds as proposed by the Information Ministry.
The LPC members had been demanding of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to waive off development charges which were to be paid by the journalists and provide financial assistance.
Earlier, Secretary Information Taimur Azmat Usman briefed the Premier that the Information Ministry had moved the case for release of about 150 million rupees for developemnt charges for the LPC housing society but the case was yet to be approved by the finance ministry.
Chairman ETPB Syed Asif Hashmi was also present during the meeting.
