An accountability court in Sukkur granted on Saturday the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) a 10-day physcial remand of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah in assets beyond means of income case.

The PPP leader was produced before the court where NAB requested for a 15-day physical remand. Judge Ameer Ali Maheser asked the bureau how it could be asking for Shah's physical remand without any papers stating the allegations against him.

He added that the bureau must present the case files then ask for remand. NAB then presented the documents after which the court granted 10-day physical remand, local media reported.

The accountability watchdog will present Shah in court on October 1.It allowed the PPP leader access to medical facilities and food from his house. The court also allowed him to meet his family.

On Wednesday, the accountability watchdog arrested Shah in the assets beyond means case. According to NAB sources, Shah operates as many as 105 bank accounts in his and other family members’ names in Karachi, Sukkur and other cities.
