Three shot dead in Orangi, one injured

KARACHI: Three activists of a political party were shot dead while one was injured by unidentified assailants near Urdu Chowk in Orangi Town Friday afternoon.

Police said they were sitting in a shop when unidentified persons riding on bikes opened fire on them at close range and fled the scene.

All the four injured were rushed to hospitals, but three of them died before reaching there. One injured Rana Gulzar 40, is still in critical condition at the hospital.

Ambulance sources said that two persons were rushed to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital while two other to Civil Hospital. They have been identified as Farhan 30, Guddo 30 and Jano 28.

Police said they have cordoned off the area as searching for the assailants.

Meanwhile, shops were closed in the area after firing incident.
