MOSCOW: Russia's central bank adjusted its target exchange rate corridor, allowing the rouble to rise by 5 kopecks against a euro-dollar currency basket to a new range of 32.15-38.15 roubles, Chairman Sergei Ignatyev said on Thursday.
"In March we moved the corridor by 5 kopecks," Ignatyev told a news briefing.
In other comments, Ignatyev said that he expected net capital inflows to resume after a new government is formed next month, supported by a wave of corporate debt issuance following Russia's sale of $7 billion in Eurobonds last week.
Ignatyev also said he expected inflation to end the year at around the central bank's target level of 6 percent, while strength in the rouble's real effective exchange rate should not affect Russia's export competitiveness.
