NAB arrests PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz

Updated 08 Aug, 2019

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested on Thursday Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz.

The bureau had summoned the PML-N leader to appear before it in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. However, the leader did not appear and instead went to Kot Lakhpat jail to see her father Nawaz Sharif, local media reported. A NAB team arrived at the jail and detained her. The bureau will take Maryam to its headquarters.

The accountability watchdog had summoned Maryam today in the afternoon to fill a questionnaire in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The bureau has also arrested Maryam's cousin Yousaf Abbas.
