YANGON: Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi's political party declared on Monday that it had won at least 43 of the 44 seats it contested in weekend by-elections.
"We won 43 seats out of 44. We are waiting for the results for the last one, in northern Shan State," said National League for Democracy spokesman Kyi Toe, based on the party's own unofficial tally.
