ISLAMABAD: Economist Dr Shahid Hasan Siddique termed Pakistan investment friendly country for investors and said that the Boao forum is an alternative to the World Economic Forum of Davos.
Talking to a VOA, he said that the importance of Boao Conference is rapidly increasing and China's private sector can invest in Pakistan.
He said two Asian countries China and Japan were among five big world economic powers in 2011, while the US, China, Japan, Russia and India will be world's major economic powers in 2020.
Similarly, China's role is also increasing in the international front. China wants to invest in some sectors in Pakistan and it is an opportunity for Pakistan, he added.
To a question, he said that Pakistan's growth rate had been below half of China and India in recent past due to lack of foreign investment. The US and IMF suspended their funding to Pakistan for the last two and half years.
