IGP for strict security on death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto

KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, has directed that extra-ordinary security measures be taken on the occasion of the 33rd death anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

A police statement issued here on Sunday said that the IGP Sindh called for concrete security steps on the occasion.

It said that a large number of people would be visiting Gharhi Khuda Bux on the occasion.

The IGP directed that intelligence be enhanced at Gharhi Khuda Bux and adjoining areas. There should be patrolling by the police mobile on the routes besides snap checking and picketing.

He further instructed that steps such as picketing, checking and deployment of police personnel be ensured.

The IGP also called for installation of walk through gates, metal detectors and sweeping as well as clearance by the bomb disposal squad.

He instructed that there should be constant patrolling and snap checking and that a vigilant eye be kept on suspects.
