According to the local police, the armed men who were on a motorbike opened fire at a vehicle at killi Mobarak Spini Road and fled from the scene.
As a result, five people including Jamal Khatoon, Ghulam Sakhi, Jaffar Ali, Zaffar Ali and Alam Khan died on the spot while six others sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital.
Soon after the incident, angry mob burnt tyres to block main roads of the city. At the Jinnah Road, the violent mob pelted stones at vehicles and fired several shots at passers-by
Police and other security officials have increased patrol and deployed contingents at sensitive areas of the city. Police is investigating the incident.
