SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were down 0.81 percent in morning trade Thursday on weakness in US stocks overnight and persistent concerns over a slowdown in China's economy, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, lost 18.53 points to 2,266.35.
