ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Fouzia Wahab on Monday said that present government is taking steps for resolving energy crisis in the country.

She said that PPP government has brought investment in the Diamer-Bhasa dam and Thar-Coal project.

Talking to a private television channel, she said that credit goes to PPP government leadership who made efforts for bringing investment in different projects including Thar-Coal and Diamer Bhasha dam.

She said "It is the responsibility of all members of the society including political parties to play a role for the development and progress of the country."

Fouzia Wahab said that past regimes did not pay attention to the construction of water reservoirs and dams.

She said that PPP government took number of steps after coming into power to steer the country out of the different challenges.

Replying to a question she said that two dams are generating electricity for the country which is not sufficient.

She said that there is a serious need to initiate more projects for meeting the growing demand of energy.
