The courtrooms saw slender activity as the lawyers protested on the call of Sindh Bar Council. The 2 lawyers, Advocate Salahuddin, former president of the Malir Bar Association (MBA), and his son Ali Raza were shot dead by unknown assailants while they were on way to the Malir bar.
The lawyers wore black armbands and hoisted black flags at the offices of Sindh High Court Bar Association, Hyderabad and District Bar Association.
The HDBA also organized a general body meeting which demanded action against the killers. Speaking on the occasion, the HDBA President Advocate Nisar Durrani observed that the incidence of attacks over the lawyers had consistently increased.
"The government should not only arrest the killers in the specific cases but should also investigate why the legal fraternity is being attacked so frequently," he demanded. A large number of lawyers attended the general body meeting.
