CHICAGO: Spot basis offers for soymeal were flat in both the US truck and rail markets on Thursday, dealers said.
* Demand for spot loads was firm this week, a dealer in the Kansas City truck market said.
* Supplies remained tight, but the crunch was expected to ease in the coming days as some plants resume operations after shutting down for maintenance work.
* The US Agriculture Department said on Thursday morning that weekly export sales of soymeal totaled 147,300 tonnes. Analysts' forecasts for the weekly total ranged from 100,000 tonnes to 400,000 tonnes.
* At 10:42 a.m. CDT (1542 GMT), Chicago Board of Trade July soymeal futures were up $5.20 at $322.10. The August contract was up $5.00 at $323.20.
