Fans signing petition for ‘sensible’ remake of GoT finale season
One of the most watched TV show ‘Game of Thrones’ is coming to its end and while everyone anxiously wait for the final episode of the series, some have been voicing their disappointment with how the story is unfurling and demanding a remake of its last season.
On coming Monday fans will be watching their favourite GOT characters for the last time in season 8 episode 6. A fan named Dylan D has started a Change.org petition, charging HBO to remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers. Dylan D is not alone either, with over 238,000 fans signing this petition over the past few days.
"David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on," the petition began. "This series deserves a final season that makes sense," he continued. "Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!".
While the petition doesn't detail specific plot grievances, many fans were notably upset when Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) executed Lord Varys by Drogon's fire, then proceeded to storm King's Landing and kill men, women and children even after the bells of surrender sounded.
Numerous fans thought Daenerys’ brutal actions appeared to be completely out of character.
