Pakistan’s Aleem Dar joins ICC World Cup 2019 match officials

Pakistan’s Aleem Dar has joined the list of 16 umpires and six match referees that would officiate the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019, scheduled to be held in England. Aleem Dar will be officiating in his fifth World Cup.  

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the list of 22 officials that would perform duties at the 48-match tournament, which will see the world’s top 10 ODI sides to compete from 30 May-14 July for cricketing world biggest achievement.

“Officiating at the World Cup as with playing, is an honour and the pinnacle of an official’s career. It is a tough job with the eyes of the cricketing world on every decision, but this group of 22 is the very best from around the world who will rise to the occasion. I wish them all the very best,” said Adrian Griffith, ICC Senior Manager – Umpires and Referees.
