The former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has picked Pakistan among his favorite sides to play the semi finals of this year’s ICC World Cup 2019 meanwhile, hosts England, India and Australia were the remaining three to join Pakistan.

“My pick for the four semifinalists spot would be India, Australia, England and Pakistan. India are one of the title-contenders of course,” Ganguly told PTI. The upcoming tournament would feature ten teams competing for the cricketing world’s biggest prize.

This year’s World Cup would also be a round robin format just like its 1992 predecessor, where every team plays each other before the semifinals.

“It’s going to be one of the most keenly contested World Cups. Indian team is so strong that in any tournament they will be favourites. This World Cup will probably be the best format. The best four teams will reach the semi-finals playing all the teams. There are no easy teams,” said Ganguly.

Whereas, the Men in Green are already in England and are scheduled to play three warm up games against Kent, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, before facing hosts England in a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series and a Twenty20.
