PM Imran Khan to meet Pakistan World Cup squad today

The newly announced ICC World Cup 2019 squad of Pakistan cricket team will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Friday) before they depart for England.

As per reports, PM Khan, who was the captain of the 1992 World Cup winning Pakistan side, will share his experience with the newly announced World Cup side. Pakistan team will depart for London on April 23 to play one-off T20I and five ODIs against England ahead of the World Cup.

Pakistan cricket chief selector Inzamam ul Haq announced on Thursday the 15-man squad that would participate in the tournament under the leadership of wicket keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed. “We have selected the best team and picked up 10, eleven players from the ICC Champions Trophy,” said Inzamam while addressing a presser.

The ICC World Cup 2019 is scheduled to be held from May 30 to July 14 in England and Wales, the Men in Green would begin their campaign against West Indies on May 31 at Nottingham.

Sarfaraz Ahmed (c), Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Hasan Ali, Imad Wasim, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shoaib Malik and Abid Ali.
