After Wasim Akram’s criticism, Sarfraz advises to eat biryani but in moderation
Days after fast bowling legend Wasim Akram slammed the national cricket team for eating too much biryani, food lover Sarfraz Ahmed has suggested that one could eat biryani but in moderation. “I am a food lover, so whenever there is a fitness test around the corner or that we are planning for a tour, I try to avoid junk foods and reduce my food portions,” said Sarfraz, who is practicing for the upcoming World Cup 2019, while talking to local media. The skipper further said that players could eat biryani as well, however, not in the same quantity as they are used to on regular days. “I am a typical Karachi biryani lover and I am also a big fan of beef qorma with sheermal bread,” he added. Just days ago, Wasim Akram criticized Pakistan cricket team for eating biryani ahead of the World Cup starting on May 30. “[Our] players are still being served biryani, you cannot compete against champions by feeding them biryani,” he said. The former captain was of the view that the Pakistan players are not concerned about their diet and are eating junk food before a crucial tournament. Meanwhile, Sarfraz alongside 22 other cricketers would give fitness test conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board in coming weeks, before the big event of World Cup 2019.
