Major transport companies charged the usual fare but passangers faced problems due to shortage of vehicles on all main city routes.

As a result, thousands of people had to board rickshaws and vans to reach workplaces and they were overcharged. A large number of vans on city routes received extra fares without completing their routes.

People said that the Punjab government had failed to provide relief to the public who suffer due to lack of transport.
