He expressed these views while distributing cheques among 50 youth under Pakthunkhwa Hunermand (skillful) Scheme that was launched with an estimated cost of Rs.1.4 billion and a function of signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Rs.200 million for provision of loans on easy terms and conditions for revival and rehabilitation of small and medium business here at Chief Minister's House.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said joint effort from all stakeholders was required to completely eradicate the menace of terrorism and militancy, adding due to government's effective strategies and timely action, the incidents of terrorism has considerably been reduced in the province today comparing it in 2009.
The Chief Minister while referring to recent bomb blasts and suicide attacks said it might be the fall out of successful law enforcement operations of security forces against militants in Kurram and Khyber Agencies.
However, he said, the government was committed to deal with elements involved in terrorism and militancy and vowed to continue struggle till elimination of the last terrorist.
The Chief Minister said peace in Afghanistan could only be established when Afghan Government and its people closely work together in same direction against evil forces.
Lauding the esteem courage and cooperation of people of Khyber Pakthunkhwa with its government in fight against terrorism and militancy, the Chief Minister said all credit in reduction of incidents of terrorism goes to their sacrifices and resolute struggle.
The incidents of terrorism and 2010 floods have badly affected investment process in Khyber Pakthunkhwa, he said, adding the business community have also suffered due to this scourge. Terrorism is a global threat which hampers development and business and it could only be combated through consistent struggle.
The Chief Minister said the government was making efforts for revival of SME sector and today's function was a step forward for revival of business activities in the province.
The Chief Minister said devastations caused by 2010 floods have been controlled in the affected districts. Small scale business activities were being revived by encouraging business community and educated youth.
Later the Chief Minister distributed cheques among 50 youth, under KP Hunermand Scheme. Provincial Minister for Finance, Engr Hamyun Khan, Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Industries Minister Ahmed Hussain Shah and Managing Director Bank of Khyber, Bilal Mustafa Kamal were present on the occasion.
