Peshawar Zalmi opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq has apologized to Quetta Gladiators star all rounder Shane Watson for the verbal spat during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final last night at the National Stadium, Karachi.

“Yesterday’s incident happened in the heat of the moment. My reaction to Watson’s inappropriate abusive comments was avoidable, for which I apologise. It was a good match and a great HBL PSL 2019, let’s enjoy its success. Congrats to Gladiators and Watson for the trophy and awards,” Imam said in a tweet post on Monday.

Imam came under fire for his heated exchange of words with the former Aussies all-rounder, who was run out by Umer Amin owing to a poor call from Ahmed Shehzad on the other end.

Meanwhile, the Quetta Gladiators wrote down history as they beat 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi by eight wickets to lift their first ever PSL title in front of sold-out crowd of 32,000 fans at Karachi's National Stadium.
