Mrs. Shazia Shahjahan Khetran, wife of Mir Shahjahan Khetran, Managing Director PTDC inaugurated the Fun Fair on Friday which was organized in collaboration with Masscomm Solutions. At the inaugural ceremony, Mir Shahjahan Khetran said that PTDC will organize more such events in near future which will help promote tourism activities in the country. He urged the citizens to come forward and play their role for the promotion of tourism which is need of the hour especially to counter negative propaganda being made against the law and order situation. He said that the media should also help promote tourism and fun fair like programmes which can develop interest among general public and further promote soft image about the country. The MD said that PTDC would encourage public-private partnership to meet the target in this regard. There are handicraft garments and food stalls in the fun fair with juggling and magic shows. Music and songs competition are also part of the fun fair which are attracting people of all age groups. Play land and food stalls for children have also been arranged in addition to foolproof security arrangements. Entry in the Fun Fair is free and the families can visit the fun fair during 10 am to 09 pm while it would continue till Sunday evening. The main attraction of fun fair on Friday was the Fashion Show which was organized in main hall of the hotel. Designed eastern, western and bridal cloths of well-known designers like Zoya, Amna Boutique, Novelty and Pechan Mall were displayed by models in the show which were appreciated by the participants. The event will be a milestone towards revival of the festivity in the country which will not only help promote tourism activities but it will also create soft image of the country, said Obaid a visitor. Festival will attract a large number of families and individuals particularly from the twin cities, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, he said.
