Indian Air Force (IAF) has lost another of its MiG 21 after it crashed in Rajasthan, India on Friday, this time after getting hit by a 'bird'.

According to a statement issued by the IAF, the MiG 21 was on a routine training mission and had taken off from Nal near Bikaner in Rajasthan. The plane crashed in Bikaner after it got hit by a bird, Indian media reported.

The pilot of the jet remained safe as he managed to eject safely. The cause of the accident will be investigated by court of inquiry.

Earlier last week, IAF lost two of its jets one of which was a MiG 21 after they was shot down by Pakistan Air Force in Pakistan's airspace. The pilot, Abhinandan, ejected out of the jet and was caught by Pakistan Army. He remained in their custody for around two days, after which he was freed by Pakistan as a peace gesture.
