FM briefs PM on her meetings with counterparts of US, UK, UAE

The Foreign Minister informed the Prime Minister about her extensive interaction with her counterpart William Hague and other Cabinet Ministers and said the bilateral visit to Britain was undertaken under the ongoing Enhanced Strategic Dialogue.

During the stay in UK, the Pakistan Foreign Minister met US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and updated her about the on-going Parliamentary process to revisit terms of engagements with the US.

Both the US Secretary of State and Minister for Foreign Affairs agreed that relations between Pakistan and USA were important and must be based on mutual respect and be seen to pursue mutual interest at the same level.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs informed the Prime Minister about invitation for a bilateral visit during the first half of current year.

The Minister also briefed Prime Minister Gilani about her visit to the UAE to co-chair Joint Ministerial Commission meeting with her UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. She said during her meetings Pakistan's role in pursuing regional peace and security was highly appreciated.
