Kings to clash with Sultans today with high hopes for strong opening
The fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) finally kicked off last night with much pomp and glory as we saw reigning champions Islamabad United achieving a come-from-behind victory over Lahore Qalandars in a sensational opening match on Thursday. Today, we will see the clash of royalty at Dubai, as Imad Wasim’s Karachi Kings will take on Shoaib Malik’s Multan Sultans. The two sides would be aiming to open their PSL account on a positive. The Karachi Kings have progressed significantly well in the past three seasons, but were never able to make it to the top three. The Kings boost the likes of Babar Azam at the top, the number one T20 batsman has the ability to play entire innings, and carry the team on his shoulders however, Babar would need an able partner at the other end to give Kings the consistent momentum. Maybe the likes of Colin Ingram and veteran batsman Ravi Bopara fill the gap. The battng line also features blaster Colin Munro and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza. Meanwhile, the Kings bowling artillery would rest on the shoulders of skipper Imad Wasim and speedster Mohammad Amir, who will be bowling alongside teammate Usman Shinwari and Sohail Khan. Coming to Multan Sultans, the side boosts experience and star power in likes of captain Shoaib Malik and superstar Shahid Afridi. One can also see the improved Shan Masood in action as well. Whereas, the bowling line features the lanky speedster Mohammad Irfan and Andre Russell, who was selected as replacement of Steve Smith, the fast bowlers would bowl alongside leggie Shahid Afridi and Malik.
