Art classes for amateur artists from March 1

ISLAMABAD: Jharoka Art Gallery (JAG) will start Art Classes for art lovers, students and amateur artists of all ages to
27 Feb, 2012

The students can get registered by the end of February for three-months drawing, painting, miniature, fabric, graphics and pottery making classes.

The courses will focus on basic techniques of forms of line, pencil shading, still life drawing, free hand drawing, pastle colours, water colour, charcoal, water and wash, charcoal and water, acrylic, basics of miniature, making of Wasli (handmade paper), control on fabric paints, graphic designing, pottery making by clay, simple designs, different shapes and colouring the pottery.

The classes have been scheduled with the objective of engaging the youngsters in healthy activities and promoting art and crafts related techniques among the young generation by master artisans, said Naheeda Raza, Director of the gallery while talking to APP.

Experts in these fields will conduct the courses to provide the students with techniques and theoretical training of the fine art subjects.

Nahida Raza said, these extra courses support the additional skills of the students besides their regular studies and polish their hidden abilities.

"Parents and teachers should provide such skills to their children and students to build their confidence in diverse fields," she added.
