As the 50-overs Cricket World Cup nears, Pakistan star all-rounder and former captain Shahid Afridi has urged cricket authorities to give chance to batsman Haris Sohail in limited overs cricket.

“I believe that Haris Sohail should be given a chance in One Day cricket as soon as possible, because he is a player capable of playing a lot of overs,” said Afridi, while talking to local media.

Speaking about the upcoming World Cup 2019, Afridi opined that Pakistan’s current ODI team should carry on with their game plan and was optimistic that the team is capable of winning the tournament.

“There is no need of doing many changes in the team, one should go with the same captain [Sarfraz Ahmed] and give confidence to the youngsters. English conditions are not the same as they were in the past,” he said.

After playing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Shahid Afridi would be seen in action at the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) representing the Multan Sultans franchise. The T20 superstar informed that he would decide about his cricketing future after the end of PSL season.
