Pakistan Women write down history beat Windies in ODI decider
Pakistan women cricket team achieved a historic feat on Monday, after they beat West Indies by 4 wickets, recording their first ever Women ODI series win against the visitors at ICC’s Academy in UAE. After a 146-run loss in the first match (Dubai International Stadium), the Bismah Maroof led Pakistan made a strong comeback to secure a 34-run win at the ICC Academy on Saturday. The team in green carried the momentum in the decider and manages to claim the series 2-1. Pakistani spinner Nashra Sandhu was the star of the match, claiming three wickets off 21 runs in her 10 overs, Sandhu alongside medium pacer Diana Baig, who claimed three wickets as well, restricted the Windies Women on a below par score of 159 runs. Meanwhile, all rounder Sana Mir, Kainat Imtiaz and Aliya Riaz claimed one wicket each. Pakistan started off well in its chase of the target, with opener Sidra Ameen piling up 52 runs on the board. Javeria Khan and Nida Dar played important knocks of 24 and 26 runs, respectively allowing Pakistan to reach the target with 16 balls to spare.
