Egypt's strategic wheat reserves sufficient for 'more than 5 months'

CAIRO: Egypt, the world's largest wheat buyer, has strategic reserves of the grain sufficient for 'more than five months', the supply ministry said in a statement on Friday.

Earlier, Egypt's state grains buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC,) bought 300,000 tonnes of wheat for March 21-31 shipment at an international purchase tender.
