This was stated by Iranian Consulate General Muhamamd Hossain Bani Asadi while addressing a meeting at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) here on Saturday.

He said Pakistan was a big producer of milk and meat and it could increase its revenue by exporting these commodities to Iran. He appreciated the textile industry of Faisalabad which was contributing a lot in economic development of Pakistan. He stressed the need to work jointly for betterment of trade relations with neighboring countries.

He said 100-MW electricity project would complete in one-and-a-half years while another 1,000-MW project from Zedan to Quetta was also under discussion.

He said Iranian consulate was arranging Iranian Products Exhibition at expo centre Lahore in third week of April and exporters and traders should also avail this facility.

Earlier, in his welcome address, FCCI president Muzammal Sultan said Faisalabad alone had been contributing about 40-50 percent of the total textile exports of the country during the last many years. He said there was a tremendous trade potential between the two countries.

Later, the FCCI memento was also presented to the guest.
