Pakistan former captain turned cricket commentator slammed the Men in Green’s dismal bowling performance terming it ‘rubbish bowling’ after the side lost the second T20I against South Africa by seven runs on Sunday.

The top ranking T20 side lost the three match series 2-0 with one match remaining. Pakistan repeated similar mistakes of poor bowling and sluggish hitting as it did in the first T20I pointed out Ramiz Raja.

“In both matches our bowling was rubbish. In both matches we needed to hit sixes to win as the run rate was too high. However, our stats indicate that Pakistan is among the worst teams for the past two years when it comes to hitting sixes,” said Raja.

Raja also criticized fast bowler Hasan Ali and Usman Shinwari, as the bowing duo went for more than 100 runs in their spells. “I don’t understand what was Shinwari trying to do, bowling short balls on a slow pitch, where he should have bowled six slow deliveries, whereas Ali was didn’t bowl proper line,” said the former captain.

“The Pakistani think tank has to dwell on why the side is so weak when it comes to power hitting, what is the reason why are bowlers are getting thrashed despite being in the cricketing circuit for quite some time now,” said Raja.

With the series already lost 2-0, Pakistan will face off against South Africa in the third and final game of the tour on Wednesday February 6, at Centurion.
