Sufi Muhammad passes away

Ameer banned outfit Tehrik e Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM) Maulana Sufi Muhammad on Thursday passed away after protracted illness at his home in village Lal Qila Maidan Lower Dir District. He was 92 years. His funeral prayer was offered in Lower Dir, and later buried in ancestral graveyard in afternoon. The 92 year old TNSM chief was suffering from Sugar, kidney disease and urine problem since long time.
Sufi, the father-in-law of former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Maulana Fazlullah, was born in 1933 in Maidan, Lower Dir, formed TNSM in early nineties for the implementation of nifaz e shariat. The octogenarian, who was the father-in-law of former Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Maulana Fazlullah, had pursued the demand for imposition of a harsh brand of sharia law in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Malakand division for almost two decades.
