LISBON: Portugal on Thursday swapped 702 million euros ($806 million) of government debt expiring next year for October 2028 bonds, extending the maturities of its debt profile and taking advantage of a recent sharp fall in long-term bond yields.

The IGCP debt agency said it bought back June 2020 debt paying 106.87 percent and placed 2028 bonds at 105.67 percent.
