PSL4: Andre Russell joins Multan Sultans after Steve Smith’s departure

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans picked on Thursday West Indian all rounder Andre Russell in place of former Australian captain Steve Smith for the fourth edition of the tournament.

Australian batsman Smith was ruled out of the Pakistan Super League 2019 due to an elbow injury. “I am disappointed I won’t be able to play in PSL but I wish Multan Sultans all the best for this year’s tournament,” said Smith.

The PSL Replacement Draft 2019 was held today at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. As per the latest developments, Peshawar Zalmi replaced Afghanistan's Waqar Salamkheil with Windies batsman Andre Fletcher.

Whereas, Quetta Gladiators have picked Dwayne Smith as cover for DJ Bravo, who will be joining the team on February 27. Meanwhile, English batsman James Vince has been picked up by the Sultans as a replacement for Joe Denly.

Furthermore, Lahore Qalandars have picked Hardus Viljoen and David Wiese to cover for the partial availability of AB de Villiers, Carlos Brathwaite and Corey Anderson.

The fourth edition of PSL will be held ?from February 14 to March 17, in UAE and Pakistan.
