After new found momentum, Pakistan eyes another victory against South Africa

After a confident batting display allowed Pakistan to grab their first victory of the tour against South Africa in the first ODI, the Men in Green are eager to carry on with their new found momentum in the second encounter against Proteas today (Tuesday) at Kingsmead, Durban.

They were many positives for Pakistan in the first ODI, especially with the bat, after opener Imam ul Haq finally brushed off his strained Test series and laid a solid platform alongside Fakhar Zaman. And, when the chase demanded acceleration, veteran batsman Mohammad Hafeez took up the charge and took Pakistan across the line.

In the bowling department as well, the ability of youngsters to restrict South Africa at a below par score of 266, as Mohammad Amir and Shaheeh Shah Afridi were sitting on the bench, speaks volum about the strength and depth of Pakistan bowling’s potency.

Meanwhile, the Proteas will be without their fast bowler Dale Steyn and wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock, who have been rested from the second ODI as well.
