Some 50,000 tonnes was bought at below $260 a tonne c&f for shipment to the port of Batangas. The United States was seen as a possible origin.
Another 35,000 tonnes was purchased at around $285 a tonne c&f to the port of Cebu and was thought likely to be sourced from Australia.
Both consignments were for shipment in the first half of April.
