Pakistan fast bowler Usman Shinwari, may be out if the team but this has not stopped him from making headlines after the speedster managed to deliver the fastest bowl of the Big Bash League (BBL).

This comes as a sign of respite for the Pakistani cricket team, looking for a serious fast bowler after setbacks against South Africa. Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed recently lamented the lack of speed amongst Pakistan fast-bowlers during the series.

However, Shinwari’s spell against Melbourne Stars should ease Pakistan’s concerns, and this may not come as much of a surprise as the youngster is inspired by Shoaib Akhtar.

“If there is one bowler who I consider my role model, then that is Shoaib Akhtar. I especially loved the way he could bowl at such quick speeds and take wickets, and that is what I am also trying to do every time I come in to bowl,” said Shinwari, quoted PakPassion.net.

“In the game against Melbourne Stars, I was able to bowl that 151 KpH delivery as I was feeling that my rhythm was very good. Throughout that spell, I was saying to myself to bowl at the fastest speed I could and thankfully that worked and I produced that really quick delivery,” he said.

Shinwari was signed by the Melbourne Renegades for this edition’s Big Bash League in November.
