Pakistan former cricket captain-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja has said the Pakistani side needs to find an ‘express bowler’ to dismantle the opposition in non-home conditions.

“Pakistan needs an express bowler, because the current bowling attack, despite being skillful, is one dimensional, and in these conditions if one does not have a bowler capable of bowling 145kph and above, one cannot take down good sides,” said Raja, at Ramiz Speaks.

Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash against South Africa in the recently concluded Test series, mainly owing to its batsmen inability with the bat.

Talking about Pakistan’s lackluster batting performance, Raja said that the Pakistan’s batting line was ‘badly exposed’ against the short pitch deliveries, and the batsmen should seek outside help if needed to overcome this flaw.

“Pakistani batsmen were just not able to play short balls, which is a very bad thing because in the international circuit if it is learnt that a team batting line are just sitting ducks against fast pace short balls, then it is not good for one's reputation,” said Raja.

The former captain stated that the team should now look towards the future and use the loss as motivation in the upcoming One Day Internationals.
