Captain Sarfraz Ahmed overtakes MS Dhoni, Adam Gilchrist in latest feat

Pakistan cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed might not be enjoying the best of series against South Africa, being constantly under the scanner for his side’s and individual shortcomings in the series, but this did not hamper him from achieving personal records.

Skipper Sarfraz set a new wicket-keeping record during the final Test match against South Africa on Sunday. Sarfraz took 10 catches in the on-going Test match and surpassed Australia’s Adam Gilchrist and former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, to become the only wicket-keeper captain to reach this feat.

Furthermore, the Pakistani captain has also made another record; taking five catches in each innings of a Test match. His 10 catches in a Test match is one better than the record previously shared by Kamran Akmal and Rashid Latif, as well.

The record comes as Pakistan faces a 3-0 whitewash threat against South Africa, a series that has been a story of question marks for the Pakistani dugout.
