Talking to Iranian news agency IRNA here, Dr Firdous said the trilateral conference of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan would pave the way for regional cooperation. "It is not only a trilateral summit but we are going to write a new history for the region", she said. The minister added that Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan were the regional powers and they should resolve all the issues with mutual understanding. "We respect each other's sovereignty", Firdous said. She said that both Iran and Pakistan were committed to promote trade and economic ties. "We have common socio-religious ties and now it is the time that we should implement all commonalities", she maintained. She said Iran and Pakistan were like two brothers. "We should stand together and strengthen each others' arms", she said.
