Sony’s comic-book movie, ‘Venom’ did massively well at the worldwide box office. The movie which starred A-lister Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock raked in more than USD 850 million worldwide. Makers have now confirmed that its sequel is on cards.

In an interview with Discussing Film, as reported by IGN, co-screenwriter Jeff Pinkner said, “I can’t say anything other than that it is happening”. He also said, when asked if he was writing the film, “I am not. As of right now, I am not.”

Pinkner did, in fact, go on to hint at a major new character for the next instalment. “Without revealing anything that I’m not supposed to reveal, it is not impossible a future, I think it's fair to say that everyone involved would be very excited by a Spider-Man/Venom movie."

The first film’s post-credits sequence left the door open for a sequel, teasing a possible war between Venom and Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kassidy/Carnage, while establishing Riz Ahmed’s character Riz for use in subsequent movies.
