Pakistan former opening batsman Imran Nazir, is optimistic that the team would bounce back in the upcoming away tour of South Africa.

Nazir was of the view that victory and defeat is part of the game, and the fans should support their players. “I don’t think that the confidence of Pakistan’s players would be dented by losing one or two Tests or a Test series,” said the dormer opening batsman, while talking to local media.

Nazir statement comes after Pakistan 2-1 defeat in Test series against the New Zealand, in the recently concluded series in UAE. “Definitely Pakistan team would perform really well in South Africa,” added Nazir.

Earlier, head coach Mickey Arthur Pakistan can do well in South Africa, a country where boost a dismal record of only two Tests and were thrashed 3-0 on their last tour in 2013.

“I reckon we can go to South Africa and do well,” said Arthur. “I believe and trust in these players, we have got some very talented cricketers and some good young players,” he added.

Pakistan under the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed would begin their campaign against South Africa, on Boxing Day December 26th at Centurion.

Pakistan will also play five one-day internationals and three T20Is on the tour.

Pakistan Test Squad: Sarfraz Ahmed (Capt/WK), Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Yasir Shah, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Abbas, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi
